DIXON - A Grand Detour man who has been active in the community for nearly 3 decades was recognized Monday night at the 27th annual Dixon Citizen of the Year dinner.

Winston Murray, 82, said he had no inkling he was being considered for the award. Nominees and selection committee members are kept secret; the recipient learns of his or her nomination at the dinner, said Dave Schreiner, KSB Hospital's chief operating officer, who won last year's award.
