Dixon Business Competition Press Release

Dixon to host Business Competition to spur Entreprenuers - $10,000 in prize money and free rent as part of the winnings offered.

Dixon Business Competition applicants do not have to be residents of Dixon to enter the event. The only requirement is the proposed business or product development is based in
Dixon. Applicants can live anywhere.  Dixon Business Competition's  purpose is to inspire and encourage anyone with an idea for a business or a product to take it to the next level by attending one of three free start-up succes seminars.  $10,000 in cash  will be shared by the three individuals with the best ideas and plans for establishing a business in Dixon. Entrants will be helped with guidance, analysis and support without any charges or fees. A free informational meeting will be held in the Loveland Community Building, 513 West Second Street, 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday,  April 23rd.  The start-up success seminars will be held May 16th-17th.  Public invited.

Musical Fridays rocked the summer

Dixon Main Street would like to thank everyone who came out to the Musical Fridays Concert Series this summer in downtown Dixon. The concerts were held every Friday from June 6 to Aug. 29.

Each week, a different musical act was featured, which brought a great variety to the downtown. Thanks as well to all of the musicians who helped make the event possible.

Don't overlook downtown Dixon

Communication is one of the most vital parts of any relationship. With good communication, great things can happen. With bad communication, all your hard work can vanish quite easily.

One of the things Dixon Main Street tries to stress is good, positive communication to the people of Dixon. We have a quarterly newsletter, a Web site (www. dixonil.com/mainstreet), and countless fliers for our events and programs. And, we receive great support from the local media outlets who help us get the word out about what is happening in the downtown.
