The Dixon Police Department is a full service police agency with core values stemming from the community policing philosophy.  Our department holds the highest standards for professionalism, integrity, character, service, community partnership, discipline, objectivity, honesty, and training.  Our officers are dedicated to providing the best possible service to our community while employing proactive police strategies to combat drug and gang activity.  Whether you have a neighbor problem or are the victim of a crime, the Dixon Police Department is here to help.

We currently have 30 full-time sworn police officers, 2 part-time police officers, a part-time Community Service Officer and 3 support staff.  We have many different specialties for the size of our agency.  They include:  Investigations, Street Crimes, Blackhawk Area Task Force, Drug Court Officer, 2 School Resource Officers, Bicycle Patrol, Tactical Response Team, Hostage Negotiations Team, Sniper Team, and Dive Team.

Our department reaches beyond the traditional role of policing. Our officers have developed numerous community programs like Clothes for Kids, Coffee with a Cop, Eddie Eagle Program, Police Chaplain Program, Shop with a Cop, and Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to help those in need.  Our officers have also developed community based programs like the Citizens Police Academy, the Police Explorers, and the Peer Jury program.

We invite you to look through our website to learn more about the department and the officers who have sworn to protect you.  Please contact us with any questions, suggestions, or comments you have.
