Investigations Division

The Detective Division is responsible for handling most major investigations for the police department. The Division, which is made up of one Sergeant and three Detectives, handles a wide variety of investigations. Some of the crimes that the detectives handle are as follows;

• Burglary

• Homicide

• Narcotics

• Child Abuse

• Forgery

• Cyber-Crimes

• Identity Theft

• Arson

• Sex Assaults

• Sex Offender Registration Compliance

• Robbery

The Detective Division is also responsible for crime scene and evidence processing. The Division is trained how to use and has access to some of the most advanced law enforcement technology available today. The Dixon Police Detectives often work with other area investigators on multi-jurisdictional crimes. The investigators often put many hours into the investigations and will work irregular times.
