City engineer earns professional award

SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers has awarded Shawn Ortgiesen, PE, PTOE, of Dixon, the 2008 ISPE Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the engineering profession in Illinois.
Ortgiesen serves as director of public works and Dixon city engineer.
He was nominated unanimously for this award by the Rock River Chapter of ISPE, in large part due to his service and dedication to the community.
Ortgiesen is active with the Dixon Main Street organization and served as secretary of the Dixon Mayor's Economic Development Commission.
