Heritage Crossing is the name of an ambitious project to turn two blocks of riverfront parking into a “downtown” gathering place featuring trails, performance space, restrooms, and a life-sized statue of Dixon native, Ronald Reagan. Initial funding for the $4.5 million project was provided by a $2.5 million federal grant. To date, the community has raised an additional $1.36 million in funds needed to help complete the improvements.
The first phase of the City of Dixon's riverfront development, Heritage Crossing, has been completed. The dedication of the Heritage Crossing Riverfront Plaza was held on Friday, August 14, 2009.
Meetings The Dixon Riverfront Commission meets on the second Tuesday each month in the City Council Chambers at 6:00 PM.
