Reagan statue arrives: Riverfront construction nearly complete; events planned for dedication Friday

The bronze statue of Ronald Reagan, astride the likeness of a palomino horse he rode nearly 60 years ago, sits at the head of the just-about-finished Heritage Crossing Riverfront Plaza.

Riverfront - Short-term Closures / Reagan Statue to be Placed

The City of Dixon is pleased to announce that the construction of the Riverfront / Heritage Crossing Project is nearly complete. The project includes a riverfront plaza area with multi-use paths along the south bank of the Rock River from Peoria Avenue to Galena Avenue.

Riverfront Dedication and Reagan Statue Unveiling Set for August 14th

The City of Dixon and the Dixon Riverfront Commission are pleased to announce that the much anticipated dedication of the Heritage Crossing Riverfront Plaza is scheduled for Friday, August 14th.  This event will have many activities for the day including the unveiling of the Reagan Statue at the north intersection of River Street and Hennepin Avenue.  The full listing of activities for the day are as follows:

10:30 a.m.  Municipal Band to play
11:30 a.m.  Dedication Ceremony, Unveiling of Reagan Statue, Cutting of Ribbons
12:30 p.m.  Musical Friday with Jazzy Jeff
1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Variety of Music and Art
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Late Night Blues Brothers
9:30 p.m  Fireworks
