The next Cabela's King Kat Tournament in Dixon, IL will be held/start on June 12, 2010

The Rock River is going to come alive with boaters and onlookers the first weekend in June.  Dixon is the newest member of this elite tournament. After a great night's sleep, Saturday morning begins with everyone ready to hit the Rock River by 6 a.m. to compete for the biggest and the best catfish catch between Rockford south dam (Airport dam) and Milan dam in Illinois.  By mid afternoon tournament participants will leave the Rock River to bring in their live catch for a weigh in and, hopefully, a prize.

After the close of the tournament, the evening fun begins.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
These events will all be happening adjacent to the Dixon Welcome Center downtown along the Rock River.

• June 5, 2009 Friday:
  Arrive and settle in - Call the Dixon Welcome Center for dining choices at 815-284-3496 OR use our online Tourism Directory for instant information! Kodiak Outdoor Sports 735 North Galena Registration and information for general public from 5pm to 8pm. Fishing vendors and factory reps available for questions.  Department of Natural Resources available for fishing regulations information and questions.  Kiwanis of Sauk Valley will be serving hot dogs and burgers available for purchase.
• June 6, 2009 Saturday: 5:30 am check in for all fisherman at Kodiak Outdoor Sports.
• June 6, 2009 Saturday: Kids Events - 10 am - 2:00 pm games and giveaways located at Page Park Drive off Palmyra Ave. at the Ball Diamonds. Games are FREE - food available.
• June 6, 2009 Saturday: Any Child  12 and under can register for a drawing for a $2,000 Cabela College Scholarship.
• June 6, 2009 Saturday: Noon - 6:00 pm - weigh in at Kodiak Outdoor Sports and noon to 6:30 pm release of some fish into Rock River at Page Park. The bigger fish will be held in live tanks located at Kodiak Outdoor Sports until tank is full and ready to be released. Public welcome to be included in the release of fish into the Rock River.
• June 6, 2009 Saturday nite: 5 pm - ? Join in for some food and fun with evening entertainment featuring The Late Nite Blues Brothers with The Shades of Blue Band and The Lake Shore Horns. The Late Nite Blues Brothers Band is an 11 peice band and will perform in the Bean Blossom parking lot beginning at 8:00 pm Bean Blossom is located next to the Dixon Welcome Center at the corner of Galena and River Street. The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. There is a $5.00 admission charge. There will be food for purchase, featuring Salamandra's Taco's, Alley Loop Italian Beef sandwiches, Coyboy Catfish Fillet and Fries and a variety of drinks with fishing vendors present. There will also be 50/50 drawing tickets sold by the Noon Lions Club; winner announced that evening. Prizes to be drawn: Restaurant certificates, Dixon Throw & Gift Basket, Any US City one night hotel stay including tax, assorted gift baskets and certificates from downtown merchants.
