On September 4, 2018 at approximately 2:05 p.m., the Dixon Police Department was conducting directed bicycle patrol in the unit block of South Peoria Avenue. While at this location, the officer observed an individual driving a vehicle while using a cellular telephone and initiated a traffic stop on that vehicle. During the traffic stop, the officer detected a strong odor of fresh cannabis coming from within the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in 366 grams of cannabis being located and seized. The following individual was arrested:
Cameron L. Roach, age 24, of Dixon Illinois, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with the Intent to Deliver (30 to 500 grams), a Class 3 Felony, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (100 to 500 grams), a Class 4 Felony, and Improper Use of an Electronic Communications Device, a Petty Offense.
Roach was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail in lieu of bond.
